The Donald G. Costello College of Business at George Mason University celebrated 1,119 undergraduate and graduate students at a degree celebration on Friday, May 15 at EagleBank Arena on the Fairfax Campus. Graduates join a Costello network of more than 44,000 alumni.

Two members of the Costello College of Business at George Mason University have been honored with the Jack Wood Award for Town-Gown Relations. Selected in the staff category was Rebecca Howick, director of operations and engagement for the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE). In the student category, Iman Chaudhry, a sophomore studying management information systems, was recognized.

Hosted by the Costello College of Business Alumni Chapter and presented by the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA), the 20th Annual Business Celebration was held on Thursday, March 26, at Fuse at Mason Square in Arlington, Virginia. An evening of networking, fundraising, and recognition of everything accomplished at the Costello College of Business at George Mason University over the past year, it culminated with the presentation of the 2026 Distinguished Patriot Awardees.

To bring the course curriculum to life, Cindy Parker, instructional professor of management and Leidos Corporate Partner Faculty Fellow at the Costello College of Business at George Mason University, welcomed ten human resources (HR) professionals to her advanced HR class for a career panel and networking session. After gaining valuable insights and practical advice from the panelists, students networked in a supportive environment, building meaningful connections and engaging in deeper conversations.

The Costello College of Business at George Mason University recently honored undergraduate students who were named to the Dean’s List—achieving a GPA of at least 3.5—for three or more consecutive semesters. In attendance were 74 Costello students who had achieved that mark.

This year’s AGA Datathon—a nationwide competition challenging college students to apply their data science skills to solve real-world government accountability problems—drew talent from many of the nation’s top business colleges. The Costello College of Business at George Mason University was well represented by the team known as the Fiscal Patriots, who rose above the competition to capture first place.

While a student at Costello, Jheen Oh's passion for business blossomed. Coming from a health-conscious family, Oh, with the help of his father, launched Susosu Water, the only naturally sourced mineral water from a 600-foot underground source in South Korea, infused with extra hydrogen for a much healthier hydration.

The Costello College of Business at George Mason University announced a significant increase in scholarship money awarded to students—$1.3 million for the 2024-2025 academic year—$500,000 of which went to named scholarships. Over the past five years, both the total amount of scholarship funding and the number of students who have received Costello scholarships have more than doubled.
