From solving climate challenges through research to preparing the next climate leaders, George Mason University is developing leadership and talent to produce solutions for our global community.

Over the summer, high schoolers from around the world came to the Fairfax Campus to learn from the experts how to contribute meaningfully to democratic resilience in the United States and around the world.

From constructing an artificial star to capturing a 25-year timelapse of a supernova, George Mason University is pioneering space exploration, research, and collaboration. And our mission into the final frontier brings students along for the ride.

These summer programs showcase how George Mason is opening doors for all students to explore, learn, and grow in their passions and skills to prepare for whatever their future holds.

From robotics to AI to makerspaces, George Mason's summer camps let students build with emerging tech and learn to use it responsibly.

Through hands-on projects and mentorship from experts, high school students learned how to use AI responsibly, create an AI agent, and explore how AI is used to improve health care.

From bioengineering to big bands, these summer camps teach all ages that George Mason's Grand Challenge Initiative solution of "improving human health" is about more than numbers on a medical chart.

The Carter School welcomed a record 63 students from across the U.S. and Jordan to its 10th annual Conflict Resolution Youth Summit (CRYS), where participants built skills in negotiation, facilitation, and conflict analysis. Through hands-on workshops and collaborative projects, students developed innovative solutions to real challenges in their school communities while exploring future opportunities in peacebuilding and conflict resolution.

George Mason University electrical engineering PhD student Kursten Szabos is paying forward the influence of early mentors by combining industry experience, project-based learning, and outreach to guide the next generation of engineers inside and outside the classroom.
