George Mason University will celebrate Mason Day on Friday, April 25, from 3–10 p.m. on the Fairfax Campus. The event will feature a carnival and performances. Expect increased traffic on and around the Fairfax Campus. The event will take place from 3–10 p.m. in Parking Lots L and A (near EagleBank Arena).

William Reeder, the founding dean of George Mason’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA), died April 12, 2025, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 80.

George Mason University’s Outstanding Achievement Awards celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of faculty and staff in support of the university's values and mission. Awards are sponsored by Human Resources and other university departments. A ceremony honoring this year’s awardees was hosted on the Fairfax Campus on Tuesday, April 15.
