  • Prof. Christopher Bell (he/him) is an educator and composer of contemporary music, dance-theatre, and opera. In Fall 2026, he will serve as adjunct faculty in composition at George Mason University.

  • Dr. Todd Kitchen is thrilled to join the Dewberry School of Music adjunct faculty in applied composition, effective Fall 2026 semester.

  • Originally from Bordeaux, Dr. Jean-Patrick Besingrand is a French-American composer and musicologist based in Washington DC. Dr. Jean-Patrick Besingrand holds a PhD in composition from The Graduate Center, CUNY where he studied under Professor Jason Eckardt, a Master of Arts in Musicology from the University of Bordeaux, and diplomas in Analysis, Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue, Composition, and Soundpainting from the Bordeaux Conservatory where he notably studied composition under Jean-Louis Agobet. 

  • Dr. Jenny Beck is a composer and sound designer whose work spans a wide spectrum of sound art, from acoustic concert music and electronic ambient pieces to music for dance, meditation, and interactive media.

    George Mason music professor June Huang sees connections between musical collaboration and peacebuilding, and she and her students demonstrate those connections with The Spheres Project, a strings faculty and student collaborative space established in 2021.

  • Dr. Brendan Sweeney is a newly appointed adjunct applied composition faculty in the Dewberry School of Music effective Spring 2025. He is an award-winning educator, arts technologist, and internationally-performed composer whose music and research explores the intersection of modern technology and human expression.

  • Dr. Andrea Reinkemeyer, internationally performed American composer, joins the faculty of George Mason University in Fall 2023 as Associate Professor and Director of Composition. Widely commissioned by orchestras, universities, and chamber ensembles across the United States, critics hail Dr. Reinkemeyer’s unique synesthetic soundscapes that blur the boundary between sound and vision, to “magical” (Fanfare) and even “enchanting” effect (International Choral Bulletin).

  • Dr. Gillam is an active educator, having taught at several higher-education institutions across the United States. His primary areas of interest are in music technology, composition, sound design, commercial music and music for media.

  • Jesse Guessford received a BS in music education from West Chester University, a Master of Music in music composition from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, and a DMA in music composition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
