Service awards ceremonies will be held Nov. 2-3 in Dewberry Hall, honoring faculty and staff who have been at George Mason five years or more. There are 693 awardees this year, which is an increase of 100 honorees compared with the 2016 ceremony.

Robinson Professor James Trefil, who is the first George Mason faculty member to reach the milestone of 55 years of service, taught at the University of Virginia for more than a decade before joining Mason’s then brand-new Robinson Professor Program in 1987.
