The Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network (KEEN) named Doaa Bondok a 2026 Engineering Unleashed Fellow, one of only 30 people nationwide to achieve the distinction. The fellowship is recognition of a commitment to developing engineers with an entrepreneurial mindset (EM) and comes with a $10,000 grant.

George Mason University Engineers for International Development (EfID) improves water access in underserved communities abroad. Advised by Adjunct Professor Matthew Doyle, EfID students manage their own projects, secure funding through competitions, and build connections with industry professionals to make a meaningful impact worldwide. 

Adjunct Professor Matthew Doyle is leading a new senior design class, advising competition-winning teams, and guiding a student organization that provides water to communities in need. He also oversees the design and construction of capital projects for the wastewater collection system for Fairfax County. 

On October 8, 2024, more than 150 civil engineering students met with 58 companies for the twentieth annual George Mason University American Society of Civil Engineers (GMU ASCE) Career Fair. 

Seniors who completed capstone design projects presented their work at the spring 2024 senior design project presentations. The event attracted a diverse audience, including industry experts from both the public and private sector as well as students’ teachers, families, and peers.
