Are you interested in gaining real-world experience working to design a world that promotes healthier living? Consider participating in George Mason’s Inaugural Healthy by Design Student Case Competition this fall!
Faculty from the Department of Global and Community Health in the College of Public Health and in the Department of Kinesiology, Sport, and Hospitality Management in the College of Education and Human Development are collaborating with the City of Fairfax and a private architectural firm to launch an exciting new student case competition for George Mason Students this fall.
Students are invited to apply to participate in an interdisciplinary team to develop an innovative pitch for a real, vacant community site in downtown Fairfax, Virginia! Winning teams will receive cash prizes (up to $1000) and may have the opportunity to collaborate with community partners to support implementation of their solution in the city of Fairfax!
All GMU students across disciplines are encouraged to join this highly interdisciplinary program! You can read more details about the program and apply here.
Applications are due September 22, 2026.
